A few years ago, we were sitting in a sports bar in another city and looking at pictures on social media of people going out to eat and listening to music and meeting their friends and I thought why are we not in our city (Margate, FL.) We thought, there should be a group that inspires people to spend money in Margate and and it could also promote connecting with each other and help the local business at the same time. I went home and came up with KOMIM Keeping our money in Margate and started the group with a few friends Bruce and Julie and soon others joined.
We held a best pizza in Margate contest and a few months later a best wings in Margate where over 500 people showed up.
Then came the COVID and business changed how they were operating and for a time socializing was not on anyone’s menu. Now that COVID is behind us it is time to rebuild what we started so we will begin with a kick off in Feb of the KOMIM Business & Home Improvement expo at the City of Margate Sports Complex. with local business, food trucks, and live entertainment. Our goal is to connect the business and the residents to help build our city from the inside out.
